THE
WRITING OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
…
Of all the things I have written, Unconditional Love is my favourite. In
essence, I believe we all wrote it. I greatly appreciate that it has
been picked up by so many websites and magazines around the world over
many years and for the people who translated it into other languages. It
is included in some of my books but I’ve never written of how it came to
be.
It was 1979 and I was visiting a friend in the
UK who had a few friends staying in their home. I was part of a
conversation with someone who seemed to find it difficult to love anyone
much. The conversation was racist and judgmental, and they were
convinced there were large numbers of the population we were not meant
or able to love. As I listened, I was thinking how I rarely heard this
view expressed, as my friends tend not to be judgmental.
As I believe everything we encounter
has a reason, I realised this person’s view must be a reflection of some
how others felt. I left soon after, went home, sat down and wrote
‘Unconditional Love.’
With the Grace of God, it’s now been read by
many thousands of people. From letters and comments I've received, it
seems to have helped. The person who originally expressed their own view
that ‘love didn't solve anything,’ inadvertently created more love.
In expressing their viewpoint, they
helped make a difference.
When we grasp the higher perspective of life,
we see a planet full of people that are all helping each other to learn
and grow. Just think of that - everyone is helping everyone else -
without exception. What a magical gift we are offered within all the
events of our life. Each presenting us with wonderful opportunities to
look and learn and gain a greater understanding, compassion and love for
all those we share this beautiful planet with.
I am so grateful for each moment of each day.
I can remember when I really experienced ‘gratitude’. I had always
thought I was grateful and that I understood what it was. I was sitting
on my sofa in the UK, appreciating soft music playing, and suddenly, I
just got it. In that moment I realised the magnitude and beauty of the
Divine plan within the Universe. A moment of understanding brought an
overwhelming feeling of gratitude for everyone and everything that
existed. All of it was helping me! Wow! And I was helping it too.
May each perfect moment continue to bring that
which helps me grow and become the best me I can be.
What a perfect day.
Unconditional Love,
Sandy Stevenson
