HONOURING THE INDIVIDUAL
SOUL PATH
Just a point on judgment and our insistence that something is right,
simply because it was said by someone we value.
Thankfully, we have the freedom to do what we want with our lives and
our money. But that doesn’t stop millions of people deciding how others
‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’ live. We’ve become a society of ‘shoulds.’ How
people should behave, what they should eat, how they should spend their
money, what to wear, who to love and their career choices. We even weigh
in on how people should raise their children and where they should go to
college, what to value, what to believe, how and what to communicate,
and how they spend their leisure time. We also tell people how they
should solve their problems, what their next step should be, and quite
commonly, how they should feel about a situation.
We may be living in one of the most judgmental societies ever. The
limitations we place on the free will and personal choice of others
actually has the effect of limiting our own free will. That is simply
the way the universe works.
So many have yet to understand that each soul is on its own journey,
with its own unique goals and the free will to create the experiences it
needs to grow. Instead, we try to slot everyone’s path into a narrow
band that fits our own fixed beliefs, programs we’ve been fed our whole
lives. We get so entrenched that we forget to stand back and ask
ourselves, ‘What am I actually saying? Is this true, or is it just
another pattern I’ve bought into without questioning?
People hang onto ideas they heard or read years ago, whether from
childhood or regarding the current reveal of information happening on
Earth. Maybe it came from a respected source, like a parent, so it gets
passed on as ‘the truth.’ It’s never questioned as being potentially
inaccurate, incomplete, or perhaps just a tactic that was necessary at
the time. Even if something was true when it was first said, divine
order is always shifting, constantly moving to whatever serves the
highest good in this moment. So those things may no longer be true.
Most of the time, helping others comes from a genuine desire to be kind.
Intuitively help is magical as it offers right action in that moment.
But when not done intuitively, we need to pause and remember ‘saving’
someone from their own actions and decisions might prevent their
opportunity to grow. Inner gut feeling works over well intentioned
advice which can be based on our own fears and experience. When we rush
in to ‘fix’ people, in essence we are saying, ‘I don’t think you’re able
to handle this.’ Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is step back
and trust they are just as capable as we are. Next time we feel that
urge to step in, we could check: Am I saying this because I
intuitively feel it is for their highest good?
Sometimes our silence allows the other person to hear their own
intuition.
Love,
